Ministry for the Deaf, Salvation.
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, unto the uttermost part of the earth." -- Acts 1:8That's exactly what happened in Acts 2:1-4. They became equipped to carry out the commission of Christ. Today, there are hundreds of languages in which we have interpretation. So I wonder what's the whole point of "speaking in (unknown) tongues" today? What does it profit? How is the Body of Christ edified? As a hard-of-hearing believer, it is complete non sensible confusion. If that is so in my case, how much nonsense does it make to a hearing unbeliever? Even more, hearing-impaired unbeliever??
The seven stars Christ holds in his hands are said by various bible scholars to be actual angels or men established by Christ to lead His church. In any event, the Exalted King is seen holding the seven stars in His right hand, further conveying His position as the Head of the Church. Out of his mouth comes a double-edge sword, the Word of God. The sword that pierces the heart of men and is a "dicerner" of truth!
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" Hebrews 4:12
As I see different assortments of ideologies of the Christ in various places, I pause to wonder about the artist's understanding of the King of kings. For a picture simply cannot contain the Glory of Christ and the love for His church. As for me, I carry a picture of my Jesus in the Book of Revelation.
"Who is he the overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:12
“he (Abram) believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness” Genesis 15:6
“For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith” Romans 4:13
“For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” Romans 4:3
“For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens." 30-34
“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall be no flesh justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20
“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet” Romans 7:7
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1The way we work on our trust issues with God is through faith in Christ Jesus. God obviously does not need to work on anything as He is perfectly righteous in all He does. That responsibility falls on us.
“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law AND THE PROPHETS;” Romans 3:21
"Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:” Romans3:20-23
VOCATION -EDIFYING OF THE BODY
Verses 12 -15
CHRIST, OUR PROPHET
"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" Hebrews 1:1-2.
I am convinced that a "modern day prophet" is a slight variation of a minister, pastor or anyone who declares themselves men or women of God. This is purely my personal opinion formed upon my understanding of Scripture. The reason for my opinion lies in the words of Christ. In John 16:7, Christ emphasizes the necessity of His ascension for the purpose of the indwelling of the Comforter in those who believe on Him. Christ explained that the Spirit of Truth is to guide us into all truth and show us things to come. John 16:13-14 Someone who claims to have a new message from God, or a message from God towards a specific person, disturbs me and my understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit in a anointed believer. I DO believe that the Holy Spirit nullifies any special "fortelling" claimed by a prophet. Take a look at these Scriptures:But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 1John 2:20
CONFESSIONSModern day prophets should be on "fire" with the Holy Spirit. Confessing, teaching and preaching for the edification of believers towards the building of the Body of Christ. The Scriptures declare that anyone who denies Jesus as the Christ, is a liar. 1 John 2:22-23 I wonder, does one need to speak verbally to deny Christ? I daresay, any omission of His name is just as loud.
Author's Note: All caps and italics in Scripture are mine.
Yesterday, I opened a box of books that I had long forgotten. I happened upon a book I had purchased a few years ago, called “The Trouble with Christians, The Trouble with Jews” written by Zola Levitt, who was a Messianic Jew (Jewish Christian). Zola Levitt passed away last year, but his ministry is headed by Dr. Jeffery Seif. http://www.levitt.com/
I found Zola Levitt to be a source of amazing insight as a Jewish believer. His life’s story was a compelling one. Through his ministry, I was able to “pull” the Old Testament and the New Testament together. He also had amazing insight into the condition of modern Christianity. I will quote segments from his book mentioned above.
“The trouble with Christians is that they do not really study the Bible, and thus they do not know the genuine principles of Christianity. Those called Christians have widely divergent views of Scripture, and they seldom arrive at those views by their own study. They are much more likely to take some pastor’s or teacher’s word for what the Scripture says than to read it for themselves, even in the more evangelical churches.”
“In modern Christianity, with its proliferation of Bibles in a wide choice of translations, there is no reason for congregants to simply take the word of preachers. It is not that a preacher is necessarily mistaken, but simply that he is given a power never anticipated for him. Apparently, the more compelling the preacher, the more truthful his teachings seem, so that we have a situation which ordinary men simply invent doctrine, even though there already is an unimpeachable source:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. II Tim. 3:16
Obviously, without consultation of the original source there would be no reliable way of making any two churches consistent in doctrine. That is almost the situation we find in Christendom today. Not only are there literally thousands of churches within any given denominations, but the churches within any given denomination are, more or less, dissimilar and even in opposition to one another.”
“In omitting true verse-by-verse Bible study, the churches not only diverge on doctrine but finally, on the nature of God Himself, seemingly remanufacturing Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for the needs of the given community.”

The essence of Grace is made so clear, yet so subtle that if one blinks, it might be overlooked.
1 -There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2- For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 -For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 -That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 -For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Verse 3 of Romans 8, is a very telling scripture, "for what the law COULD NOT DO, in that it was WEAK through the flesh"!
Paul says in Romans 7:19 "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do"
How many of us have broken at least one of the ten commandments, in spite of very best efforts and meaningful intentions? How about lying, "bearing false witness" against another or a white lie? Maybe we don't lie, habitually, but we certainly can and have lied to ourselves. How about coveting that beautiful, 2 story house, with the three car garage, which belongs to a neighbor down the street, who seems to favored with blessings galore?
Paul says in Romans 7:20 "Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me"
We cannot be "right" under our own power. No matter how we try. The law in the flesh is made weak because sin dwells in us. For this very reason (Romans 8:3) God sent his Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh, and condemned sin!
THE Straight and Narrow
What so many don't to understand, while trying to walk the straight and narrow, the ONLY way, by our own power, we can overthrow sin and obtain righteousness, is through heartfelt belief God raised Him from the dead, and confession of Christ Jesus. "Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" 1John 5:5
Whoever believes on Him, WILL NOT be ashamed! (Our heartfelt confession of Christ Jesus as LORD) Romans 10:8-11
Fruit of the Spirit
When we walk after the Spirit, this is the result:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law" Galatians 5:22-23
I absolutely cannot end this post without promoting verse-by-verse studying of the Book of Romans in whole. The Scriptures listed here is only, but a glimpse of the profound, immense principles of Law, Liberty, Spirit and Flesh(and more). My post is ONLY, but a way, to promote the life altering, soul-fulfilling drink of God's Glorious principles. I absolutely adore this book! It brought a clarity of mind of how I was to live life in Christ Jesus. May it bring you clarity and Liberty in Him!
In the Name of the Son of God, Yeshua...Amen.
