The Spirit of Fear

SPIRIT OF FEAR There was a time in my youth when I was undoubtedly plagued with bouts of insecurities. The church I was a member of then, was divided into groups of the "haves" and the "have nots". As an orphan, I was most definitely a member of the "have nots". Being around my two-parented/one-parented friends I quietly developed a case inadequacy. As I matured in age (not necessarily in spirit), I carried that inadequacy with me, and it developed into an insecurity. My insecurity played with my vain imaginations, thus, assumptions and defensiveness was born. I became a person who would assume a particular behavior/conversation was geared towards me in a negative light, and when truth was presented to me, I became defensive of my assumptions and resulted behavior. It was a deadly mind game I played so long ago. Deadly in the fact that, spiritually I was inhibited by the insecurities that plagued me. My insecurities prevented me from seeing and then receiv...

Shackled Liberty

I have a bone to pick! I must admit I am irked! Now, I pray that my spirit is led in a way that I can communicate clearly without letting my sentiments dictate my writing in truth and of scripture. Why is my liberty in Christ Jesus is always attacked by those who profess themselves Christian or Believers? They pick on inconsequential issues, and declare my deliberate choices of faithful living/dependency upon the Lord, unwise; at worse, unbiblical. I am compelled to defend the truth against dangerous ignorance, and the liberty of the gospel commanded by Christ, our Savior. CHRIST, OUR CONDEMNER? What is amazing to me is that Christ himself, has never condemned a sinner for being a sinner! "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning a...

Be Good

I can be impatient at times. I snap at my family unnecessarily so, and find myself remorseful for the impatient attitude that creeps its way into my heart. Then the Spirit, reminds me of one word, love. I look at the faces of whom I'm being so impatient with, and apologize. My attitude tempers, flutters, and then melts away. Yes, I love the liberty that comes with Salvation! I love the Grace that loosens the bond of sin! Yet, how many of us try to relink those broken chains? Chains broken by Christ, in trying to walk the Christian life, by their own power? Trying to be right, or behave righteously through condemnation. Whether it be of themselves or of others. Whether it subtly or outright. Romans 8 The essence of Grace is made so clear, yet so subtle that if one blinks, it might be overlooked. 1 -There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2- For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath mad...

Leper's Law

Some of you may wonder, how it is I get my church since I'm not a member of an organization. I'm blessed to be married to a man who loves the Lord, just as much, if not more than I do. Through him, my husband, is where I've came to be the woman that I am in the Lord. He, (husband) has been (one of) the instrument in the molding, shaping of my faith. Teaching, me about bible study, and the tools for further clarification (concordance, bible dictionary etc.). Not only is he my family and my friend. He is my church. And I love him beyond words can say. He has been and is the Lord's provision for my walk in faith on this earth! Yesterday, we were sharing in the Word. Praising and glorifying the Lord. He shared with me something that I've always known, but it was put in a way that was so relevant. I wanted to share here in this blog. A bit of history first. My husband has studied the New Testament for years now, and he is focusing his attention on the Old Testament. He s...
