The problem with date-setting, setting a specific or vague date of the return of Christ, is pretty obvious, despite that, many date-setters twist scripture to justify their disobedience. We  live in an age where the wisdom of man has reached new heights. Where technology spurs forth with gaining speed each passing year (month). There is no question that the "tree of  knowledge of good and evil" ( Genesis 2:9 ) has been manifested in the 21st Century. There is no question that mankind has become enamored with their own intellect. Yes. Exactly. I do have to bring this up since so many church-goers, insist on my being in a modern church environment, for the sake of my spiritual growth. In other words, I simply cannot "walk" without interaction from "like-minded" believers, whether single or married. As I mentioned it's been a long journey prior to the arrival of my "peace with God, by the justification of my Faith" Romans 5:1 , what I have discovered during this journey was that my faith was tentatively placed with God, and wholly placed in "gatherings of ourselves". I simply had to have "church". As someone who grew up in a unloving family environment, I desired the physical/spiritual support of a "real" family. I was extremely disappointed and let down by many attitudes I encountered in various churches. I wasn't being fed as I needed to be. I must begin this post by truly apologizing to readers of this blog for the confusing thread of "dialogue" on my last post " Stuff False Doctrines Are Made Of ". While I try to be fair, as not to immediately dismiss another's perception, I absolutely must commit this blog to clarity and as the keeper of this blog, there will be times when I will shut down all dialogue to preserve the integrity of this blog. The prosperity gospel is no doubt a hot topic that has many Christians divided amongst themselves. I, based on years of studying, am totally and irrevocably against such preaching of health and wealth based upon misconstrued, out-of-context, man-made doctrine that so many of these prosperity teachers promote. If there is one thing I've learned over my years of studying is this, NEVER read/take/use scripture out of context of it's original content, for such is the stuff man-made doctrines are created of. Today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is remembered as a man who instilled social change under the the instrument of peace. He is a man admired for his amazing self-control and dedication to social change via peace and truth. He is one of the very few people that lived (or live) on this earth I can say without a doubt, I truly admired and respected what he was about. My admiration stems not from his speeches, which in itself it absolutely awe-inspiring. Neither from his peaceful mission in a violent world. Nor his various degrees of intellect. My admiration comes from the fact that he indeed was a man of the Faith and a promoter of Love. A rare gem in a world gone astray. Now some of you may have heard of The World Wide Church of God. It is true that the modern English language seems to be going somewhat downhill with a lot of people - not that that's a bad thing completely - it's just that there won't be so much beauty to words and appreciation for words if the English language eventually turns into text message and IM language where words aren't fully spelled out. As I review 2007, my husband and I are in complete agreement, it was a spectacular year of trial by fire, and in no way we will celebrate the end of a tumultuous year. Instead, we celebrate the growth it brought us as His children. Indeed our faith is MUCH MORE precious than gold, as it says in 1 Peter 1:7 . The question we both discussed and entertained throughout the year was there a "mindset" or an "attitude" that we needed to acknowledge? Out of my five children I have at least two picky eaters. When I present my created concoction of food, carefully arrayed and thought out in terms of healthiness, there will always be someone who doesn't like something on their plate. On very rare occasions, all five, will eat, lick every last piece of food on their plate. As a mother, I'm pretty firm on having them eat most, if not all of their food. After all, having a balanced meal is good for the well being of the body and mind. I most certainly want my children to grow healthy and strong. As a young child, I was a picky eater as well.
