Have Some Christian? No, Thank You.

What in the world??

Town halls across the nation are filled with "moral" and "righteous" Christians spewing borderline and outright racial epithets. Calling for the death of our President. It all started during the presidential campaign, the seemingly frenzied, desperate behavior of Republican Christians, politicians and citizens alike at the prospect of a black, I mean Democratic President.

And now with Tea Parties and Town Halls, they come armed with anger and misinformation yelling about anything, but health care. Where is the reasonable state of mind?

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - 2 Tim.1:7

Where's the fruit of peace? Charity, anyone??

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, - Galatians 5:22

"We're trying to preserve America." they believe. "We are trying to save our children's future.", they excuse.

Well, no wonder they are paranoid, irrational and defensive!

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. - 1 Corinthians 15:19

In case you missed it while at church, Christ has absolutely no intention on "preserving America".

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. - Revelation 21:3

He is going to preserve His people. The True Worshipper (John 4:23). Taking place on a "new earth"...

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. - Revelation 21:1

Under the reign of a new and perfect King.

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. - Revelations 11:15

So, please excuse me while I pass up your offer of some Christian. I'll keep my "unchurched" status and take my chances on Faith, thank you very much!

  1. I agree with you 100%! I have a lot to say on this subject but I already wrote about it on my blog: http://thebiblethumperssoapbox.blogspot.com/search?q=protest

Bottom line, those 'christians' who are spilling this slander and 'fighting for their rights' don't realize that they are fighting against leaders that God has appointed and that they are in danger of judgment themselves. They also forget that this is not our home, and that we are sheep being lead to the slaughter. Nowhere in Scripture are we taught to fight against worldly authorities. Jesus opposed religious leaders of His day, but He never opposed the pagan Roman authorities nor did he advise His apostles to do so. Many Christians think they are doing a good work for the Lord but in reality, they are behaving just like the world and being disobedient towards God! I say "No thank you" too!

    Great post!

    Blessings,
    Carol

  2. When I first started paying attention to the issues commented all over the internet, I really couldn't see how anyone could know what was true. It was annoying to read about something horrible that was going on, check further by looking at the article or whatever that was being commented on, and find out the commentary was totally made up! Slanted and deliberate lies! No, it isn't all from christians but there was certainly too great a representation of them (us?). I'm back again to mostly ignoring it all because it's irrelevant in general to what really matters.

  3. Carol, TMinut,

What is crazy about this whole thing is pastors and church leaders, and Christian politicians are leading the lot and inciting this "new movement". There seems to be a desperate and frenzied spirit that is so palpable.

Their fear of (insert here) is so obvious that it's clear to me their faith is prevalent upon the preservation of old time ideals of America. (Bush era??)

The problem with the "old time ideals" is that it can be bigoted and racist. Unfortunately the old time ideals fostered many murders in our American history (slaves, Native Indians, and anyone considered 2nd class citizens)

All this tells me one thing... Christ is soon coming...

    God Bless!

  4. By the way,

    What Tminut said:

"I'm back again to mostly ignoring it all because it's irrelevant in general to what really matters."

    I couldn't agree more!
