Hungry Are Ya? Go Shoplift!

“A British Anglican priest is facing criticism following a controversial sermon in which he advised his congregation to shoplift, providing the thievery takes place at large chain stores.
Rev. Tim Jones, 41, told his followers stealing from such stores is sometimes the best option for the poor. He said it is better for people to steal than resort to prostitution, mugging or burglary.”

Here’s an idea, how about GIVING to the poor? Isn’t that what “Christianity” is all about??
“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:14-17
Just how lazy has this priest become in his “ministry”, telling the poor to shoplift, when he has a nice, juicy, fat meal every evening?? And the shoplifting guidelines? Too obvious… as long as they don’t stop past HIS home…to eat or steal.
Two words…DEAD.   FAITH.
Disgusting….

A relative and I were having a fascinating discussion about sin. He made a statement that rang very true to me. "So many Christians are obsessed with sin". For a long while, since reading other posts and forums about sin, I've been dwelling upon and studying about that matter. Translation vs. Paraphrase

Up until about four years ago, I studied primarily out of the New Living Translation. It was simple to read and I was comfortable with it. However, I did notice through out my studying in that specific translation, that passages just weren't making any sense. My husband preferred the King James Version and studied out of that, our studying together almost always ended out of the KJV version for the simple fact that the NLT was not adequate in conveying some of the principles of the Word. My husband, at that time worked for Tyndale House Publishing (which publishes the NLT version) gave me a Bible published by them called "The People's Parallel Edition". This edition had the KJV and NLT side by side. It was only then I began to see a true difference between translations. Romans 8:1 in both of these versions comes out different.
